Carson-Newman Men’s Soccer Team Takes Stand Against Breast Cancer
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman men's soccer team, in partnership with Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, is taking a stand against breast cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"This is an issue that affects so many women around the planet," said C-N Head Coach Allen Vital, "We hope that we can, in some small way, do something in our own community to spotlight the facts about breast cancer."
In addition to visiting with the staff at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, the Eagles have scheduled some special breast cancer awareness activities during the next week's games.
"We encourage the whole Carson-Newman family and Lakeway community to come out and support these events," concluded Vital.
Carson-Newman will take on Catawba on Saturday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. and conference rival Tusculum on Wednesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. At both games, the Eagles will have halftime presentations to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Additionally, at the Wednesday match against Tusculum, the Eagles will sport pink warm-up shirts to promote the cause. They are asking fans to show their support by wearing pink all day Wednesday and to the game.
