KANSAS CITY - Lincoln Memorial freshman forward Mario Pinto was selected to the NSCAA All-Southeast Region First Team on Tuesday, headlining a list of eight SAC men's soccer players earning All-Region honors.
Pinto, the SAC Freshman of the Year, was an offensive force for the Railsplitters in 2011, finishing first in the conference in shots-per-game, second in points, second in goals and eighth in assists.
He was also one of just two freshmen named to the First Team.
The SAC had three student-athletes on the All-Region Second Team, including league Player of the Year Lasse Sohrweide, who led Anderson to both the conference's regular season and Tournament championships.
Sohrweide is joined on the Second Team by Mars Hill defenseman Troy Chavez and Carson-Newman forward Robbie Hill.
Hill, a senior from Middlesbrough, England, was a first team All-SAC selection as well.
Four players from SAC schools made the All-Southeast Region Third Team, including two more from Mars Hill in midfielder Rury Caulfield and forward Steven Bivens.
Tusculum defenseman Matias Rubio was a third-team selection, as was LMU midfielder Leonardo Germiniani.
Caulfield, Bivens and Rubio each earned All-SAC First Team honors, while Germiniani was a member of the Second Team.
