Newberry’s Sweatt, Tusculum’s Lewis Selected as SAC Soccer Players of the Week
Strong performances from Newberry keeper Patrick Sweatt and Tusculum forward Taylor Lewis have earned the duo the SAC Soccer Player of the Week awards, it was announced on Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Strong performances from Newberry keeper Patrick Sweatt and Tusculum forward Taylor Lewis have earned the duo the SAC Soccer Player of the Week awards, it was announced on Tuesday.
After giving up a goal on the first shot in Saturday's Catawba vs. Newberry match, Sweatt turned away each of the Indians' next 12 shots on goal as the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.
Sweatt is currently second in the SAC in save percentage (.857) and goals against (five), and fourth in saves (30).

Lewis led Tusculum to a 2-0 week by recording a pair of goals and an assist.
In the Pioneers' matchup with Mars Hill, Lewis scored the game-winner in overtime on a header off a crossing pass, leading TC to a 3-2 victory.
The freshman then added a goal and an assist on Saturday as TC blanked Anderson, 3-0.
