SAC Selects Carson-Newman’s Frame, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Alequine as Soccer Players of the Week
Carson-Newman forward Ross Frame and Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Garcelle Alequine have been selected as the SAC Soccer Players of the Week after both tallying six points for their teams in matches spanning Sept. 30 through Oct. 6.

Frame becomes the first Carson-Newman student-athlete to earn SAC Soccer Player of the Week honors in 2013 after notching two goals and two assists last week in the Eagles' matches with Young Harris and Lenoir-Rhyne.
He opened the week by assisting on both Carson-Newman goals in a 3-2 non-conference loss at Young Harris on Wednesday, and then scored twice on Saturday in a 3-0 Eagles win over L-R.
The strong week moved Frame into the conference lead in points with 19. He is tied for second in the conference with seven goals and tied for third in assists with five.
SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week | Garcelle Alequine, Lenoir-Rhyne MF
Alequine earns the award for the second-straight week after tallying three goals in Lenoir-Rhyne's victories over Belmont Abbey and Carson-Newman. The wins extended L-R's winning streak to four-straight matches.
Alequine got her week started by scoring Lenoir-Rhyne's first goal in a 2-1 double overtime victory at Belmont Abbey on Tuesday. The sophomore followed that performance by scoring twice in the first 24 minutes of the Bears' 3-2 league victory over Carson-Newman on Saturday.
Alequine is currently tied atop the SAC leaderboard in both goals (six) and total points (16), and ranks tied for fourth in the conference in assists with four.
