ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker forward Connor Norton-Baker has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 27-Nov. 2, the League announced today.
Norton-Baker, a sophomore from Myrtle Beach, S.C., scored a pair of goals to lift the Cobras to a 3-2 double overtime win over Brevard on Nov. 1 to earn a berth to the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship. He pounded in the game tying score in the 76th minute on a Chris Martin assist from inside the box. Norton-Baker put in the golden goal in the 103rd minute as he took a Martin assist and beat the keeper on a breakaway. The honor marks his first Player of the Week nod this season.
Also nominated for Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Eric Elder (Lenoir-Rhyne), Andreas Kvam (Tusculum) and Aksel Juul (Wingate).
