The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 19

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum Goalkeeper Jorge Alvarez has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sep. 12 – Sept. 18, the League announced today.
 

Alvarez, a native of Gijón, Spain, helped lead his team to wins over conference foes Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne by allowing just one goal and making 10 saves. In a 1-0 double overtime victory over Queens, the senior finished with eight saves while six of them came in the second half and overtime. Against Lenoir-Rhyne, Alvarez had a pair of saves as the Pioneers came back from an early deficit to beat the Bears. Alvarez has a 1.16 goals against average and a .739 save percentage for Tusculum. The award is his first Player of the Week plaudit on the season.
