Four South Atlantic Conference Teams Named in NCAA Division II Men's Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The NCAA announced its first week of Division II men's soccer regional rankings on Wednesday (Oct. 17), with four teams representing the SAC in the southeast.
At No. 4 is Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears defeated regionally-ranked Lincoln Memorial 3-2 with the game-winner coming in the 88th minute.
Carson-Newman is at No. 5. The Eagles lost 2-1 to No. 10 Lander on a penalty kick coming in the 89th minute. Carson-Newman then won 3-1 at Queens to earn the conference victory.
Queens University of Charlotte holds sixth in the southeast after a 3-1 conference loss to regionally-ranked Carson-Newman.
Lincoln Memorial secures the No. 8 rank after splitting the week. New SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week, Victor Peres, netted four goals, including a hat trick, in 4-2 win over North Georgia and the 3-2 loss to regionally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne.
On Wednesday, October 17, all four teams are home. Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Catawba, Carson-Newman welcomes Mars Hill, Queens matches up with Wingate, and Lincoln Memorial squares off with Tusculum.
