Anderson and Lincoln Memorial Headed to 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) -- The Anderson Trojans and Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters earned bids to the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament as announced by the NCAA this evening. The Trojans earned the No. 7 seed and the Railsplitters are the No. 10 seed. The two will square off in the First Round on the campus of Lynn University.
Anderson earned an at-large bid to the tournament on the strength of a season that saw them win the second SAC Regular Season title in program history. Anderson went 11-1-5 overall and 7-1-2 in league play and started the season with a string of 12 straight matches without a loss. Anderson tied Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC Tournament Semifinals but fell in a heartbreaking penalty kick by a score of 8-7.
The Railsplitters earned a bid by winning the SAC Tournament title in a 2-0 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne. LMU went 9-7-2 overall and 6-2-2 in SAC play and have gone seven straight without a loss. LMU opened the year 2-6-1 but rallied to close with a 7-1-1 mark in the final nine matches. Ronan O'Mahony was named SAC Tournament MVP with the game-winning goal and an assist in the championship game.
