Lincoln Memorial's O'Mahony Tabbed as SAC Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial University's Ronan O'Mahony was voted as the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced today.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
O'Mahony has distinguished himself academically during his career at Lincoln Memorial, earning multiple academic honors while maintaining an outstanding cumulative grade point average in his chosen field of study, Sport Management. He has been recognized on institutional and conference academic honor rolls and has received College Sports Communicators academic recognition, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the classroom. He has also been a three-time member of the A.B.E. Scholars.
On the field, O'Mahony has been a key contributor for the Railsplitters throughout his career, earning All-Conference recognition and playing a pivotal role in Lincoln Memorial's success at the conference and regional levels. A consistent presence in the lineup, he helped guide LMU to strong regular-season finishes and postseason appearances, earning recognition for his performance, leadership and impact on both ends of the field. Most recently, he led LMU to the 2025 SAC Tournament Title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament while personally earning Tournament MVP and All-Tournament Team honors.
Off the field, O'Mahony has been equally dedicated to service and leadership. He has been actively involved in student-athlete leadership initiatives while also giving back through community service efforts, including youth soccer involvement and campus-based outreach programs. His commitment to serving others and representing Lincoln Memorial University with integrity exemplifies the core values of the South Atlantic Conference.
Through his combined excellence in academics, athletics, service and leadership, O'Mahony embodies the true spirit of the SAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
