Wingate’s Flavio Rathsam Named Men’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, SC -- Wingate University sophomore Flavio Rathsam has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending February 16, 2010.

Rathsam, a sophomore from Sao Pualo, Brazil, is a perfect 2-0 in singles and doubles action in the spring season for the Bulldogs. Rathsam won his No. 5 singles match against No. 17 USC Aiken 6-4, 2-6 and 10-6. He teamed with sophomore Bruno Pudence for an 8-6 win in No. 1 doubles action. Rathsam notched a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 5 singles action against Johnson C. Smith. He followed that with an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles with Pudence.

Rathsam holds a 16-1 record in his singles career at Wingate.
