Brevard’s MacNeil, Anderson’s Gregory Receive SAC Tennis Player of the Week Awards
ROCK HILL, S.C. - As the tennis season moves into its eighth week, Brevard's Sam MacNeil and Anderson's Lindsay Gregory have been named SAC Tennis Players of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
MacNeil closed out the week with a perfect 2-0 record in both
singles and doubles, including a key 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory over No.
18 ranked Stan Atema from Anderson at the No. 1 position. Earlier
that day, MacNeil paired up with Beau Wills to knock off Atema and
Daniel Gonzalez 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
In Brevard's match against Wingate later in the week, the sophomore
once again teamed up with Wills to defeat Wingate's tandem of
Flavio Rathsam and Neal Towlson 8-5 at No. 1. MacNeil concluded the
week with a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set victory over Rathsam in No. 1
singles.

Gregory tallied two singles victories last week, highlighted by a
2-6, 7-5, 6-1 three-set clincher over Tusculum's Megan Buckmaster
at the No. 6 spot to propel the Trojans over the Pioneers, keeping
Anderson unbeaten in conference play this season.
The freshman also captured a win over Brevard's Ana Drummond, 6-1,
6-0, at No. 6 singles.
