Three SAC Men's Tennis Teams, Six Singles Players and Four Doubles Teams Ranked in Latest Oracle/ITA Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) releaed its latest Oracle/ITA Division II Men's Tennis Top 50 national ranking on Wednesday (March 27). Wingate earned the No. 6 spot in the ranking, followed by Queens at No. 16 and Lenoir-Rhyne moved up to No. 37
The Bulldogs are 11-2 overall, with a 6-0 record in SAC play, while Queens is 8-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Lenoir-Rhyne is 12-2 overall and 3-1 in conference.
In addition to the national team ranking, the ITA also released its Oracle/ITA Top 75 singles ranking and Top 50 doubles ranking.
Newberry's Edison Ambarzumjan is the top ranked singles player at No. 8, while Anderson's Ignacio Bidegain is No. 15 and Wingate's Daniel Belsito is ranked No. 30. Tusculum's David Akinpetide earned the No. 36 ranking, with Queens' Agustin Aran coming in at No. 44 and Tusculum's Yago Fernandez at No. 73.
Earning the No. 12 spot in the doubles ranking is Wingate's team of Daniel Belsito and Josep Canyadell, followed by Anderson's Spencer Brown and Adam Kush at No. 19. A pair of Queens' doubles teams came in at No. 39 and No. 40 with Julian Bosch and Agustin Aran at No. 39 and Paolo Bompieri and Joel Dunlap at No. 40.
