Wingate's Constantino Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Gabriel Constantino has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week nine of the 2023 season, the Conference announced today.

Constantino, a sophomore from Brazil, went undefeated last week in doubles and singles play for the Bulldogs. At No. 1 doubles, Constantino and doubles partner Edis Nokick picked up three consecutive wins on the week, winning 6-2 versus Newberry, 6-4 versus Francis Marion, and 6-3 versus Carson-Newman. At No. 2 singles, Constantino picked up a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory against Newberry and another dominant 6-1, 6-2 straight set win over Francis Marion. Constantino moved up to No. 1 singles in his match against Carson-Newman and secured an impressive 7-6, 6-3 straight set victory. Constantino's victories have helped the Bulldogs to remain perfect in Conference play.
