Wingate Picked as South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Preseason Favorite; Preseason All-Conference Teams Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs have been picked as the 2024 South Atlantic Conference men's tennis preseason favorites, the league office announced today (January 26). The Bulldogs received 12 first place votes and 144 points total.

Carson-Newman earned the No. 2 spot in the poll with 125 points, followed by Tusculum at No. 3 with 115 points. Anderson came in at No. 4 with 100 points, and Limestone placed fifth with 93 points.

Lincoln Memorial was voted No. 6 with 90 points. Catawba came in at No. 7, earning the final first place vote and collecting 82 points. Lenoir-Rhyne took the No. 8 slot with 81 points.

Newberry was voted No. 9 with 63 points and at No. 10 was Coker with 48 points. Rounding out the poll was Mars Hill at No. 11 with 35 points, Emory & Henry at No. 12 with 21 points, and UVA Wise at No. 13 with 17 points.

In addition to the preseason poll, the SAC announced its preseason all-conference teams. Wingate highlighted the first team doubles, with partners Gabriel Constantino and Edis Nokic, Luka Brown and Hugo Nossler, and Florian Walcher and Carlo Rosselini.

Constantino, Nokic, and Walcher were named first team singles, in addition to their doubles honors. Also earning spots on the singles list were Marcos Castares of Catawba, Marc Janse of Carson-Newman, and Nemanja Subanovic of Tusculum.
