Tusculum's van Gorkom Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Tusculum's Tijn van Gorkom has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week seven of the 2024 season, the Conference announced today.

Van Gorkom, a freshman from Heemstede, Netherlands, led the Pioneers to a perfect 4-0 record last week as a team and he picked up four singles and four doubles wins in the process. Playing No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, van Gorkom defeated opponents from West Virginia State (6-3, 6-1), Quincy (6-4, 6-4), Coker (6-1, 6-4), and Anderson (6-3, 6-2). In doubles action, he played No. 3 doubles for all four matches winning 6-2, 6-2, 6-4, and 6-3.
