#7 Catawba wins opener at DII National Championships over Biola
Surprise, Ariz. —- The seventh-ranked and fifth-seeded Catawba College men's tennis team defeated 12th-seed Biola in its opening match at the Division II National Championships in Surprise, Ariz. on Wednesday, 4-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Alen Bill and Santiago Passoni got the first win at #2 doubles, 6-4
- Mateo Berne and Alessandro Valletta clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at #3s
SINGLES
- Agustin Mastri rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at the top-ranked singles match
- Bill followed with his second win of the day, this time at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-3
- Berne clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 singles
