The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Devon Moore was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Queens' Martin Knauer was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the seventh week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

Moore, a junior sprinter from Baxley, Ga., posted two NCAA Division II provisional marks at last week's VMI Indoor Classic with a first place finish in the 200-meter dash and a second place finish in the 60-meter dash. He won the 200-meter with a time of 21.24 seconds, and he ran a 6.79 second 60-meter.

Knauer, a junior thrower from Wolnzach, Germany, earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark, and second place, at the VMI Indoor Classic with a 17.74 meter toss in the shot put. His throw also set a new Queens' record and moved him up to No. 10 nationally in the event. In addition to placing second in the shot put, Knauer also finished seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 16.50 meters.

The award is Moore's third Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Knauer's third Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
