Twelve SAC Athletes Qualify for NCAA Division II Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.
A total of 540 participants, 270 men and 270 women, will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event.
Heat sheets will be available at this same website by Monday, March 7.
Representing the South Atlantic Conference will be 12 athletes from Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone, Queens, and Tusculum.
Carson-Newman's Joseph Oreva-Edafiadhe will compete in the long jump. Lenoir-Rhyne's Marlin Davis will compete in both the 60 meter and 200 meter dashes. Davis' teammate Jacob Wadsworth will compete in the heptathlon. Limestone's William Gray will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, while Lloyd McCurdy competes in the triple jump.
Widchard Guervil of Tusuculm will compete in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. Teammate Zack Nelson will compete in the 400-meter dash.
Queens' will have representation in the shot put, Martin Knauer, heptathlon, Simon Rey, the mile, Mitch Cox, the 400-meter dash, Niklas Klei, and in the 5000-meters run, Jan Lukas Becker.

The championships will be held March 11-12 in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Harvey Dean Track. Pittsburg State University and Crawford County Convention and Visitors Bureau will serve as co-hosts of the championship and will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.
