Tusculum's Guervil Named 2022 SAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Widchard Guervil has been named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Wednesday (March 23).

Guervil, a senior sprinter from Fort Myers, Fla., was the 2022 SAC Indoor Champion in the men's 60-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team. He earned All-American honors in both the 60m and the 200m after placing fourth in the 60m and seventh in the 200m at the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship.  

In addition to his numerous SAC titles this season, Guervil captured first place honors in 12 of the 60m races he competed in during the indoor season, and he was named the SAC AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week five times. He was also named the SAC Indoor Men's Track Athlete of the Meet for the 2022 SAC Indoor Men's Track & Field Championship.

The SAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year award is determined by a vote by the league's head coaches.
