Anderson's Dotson and Wingate's Frattaroli Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson's Elliot Dotson was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Wingate's Vince Frattaroli was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the fourth week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.
Dotson, a freshman distance runner from Greenville, S.C., set an Anderson program record and recorded an NCAA provisional mark when he won the mile at the Carolina Challenge. He finished the race in 4:08.55, earning the top time in the SAC this season.
Frattaroli, a junior pole vaulter from Waxhaw, N.C., won the pole vault at the COROS Collegiate Challenge with an NCAA provisional height of 4.00 meters. The vault also marks a new Wingate program record.
