NCAA T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS: Day One Recap
Le Grix, Saint Peyre lead Bulldogs at NCAAs Thursday night
Pueblo, Colo.----Wingate University senior distance specialist Titouan Le Grix qualified No. 1 in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase preliminaries in the NCAA Division II outdoor national championship meet inside the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl Thursday. In addition, Le Grix had the No. 2 qualifying time in the men's 1500 meters prelims.
In the only Thursday championship final involving Wingate student-athletes, junior Antonin Saint Peyre finished fourth in the men's 10000 meters with his time of 29:55.08. Saint Peyre earns first team All-American honors for his efforts. Senior Scott Nutter finished 10th in the same event (30:42.32). Nutter receives second team All-American laurels in his final race as a Bulldog.
Bears complete day one at NCAA National Championships
PUEBLO, CO - The Lenoir-Rhyne Track & Field team had a strong start to their national championships on Thursday, with Alexis Brown and the women's 4x100m relay team each qualifying for Saturday's finals.
Alexis Brown set the standard in the 100m dash, running the third fastest all-conditions 100m dash time in the history of Division II with a mark of 11.06 seconds. She joins Tusculum's Jahzara Hart as the only two SAC athletes to qualify for the 100m final. Brown also anchored the women's 4x100m relay team that consisted of her, Sharonda Priester, Damyja Ortiz, and Molly McGrath to a third place finish in their heat with a time of 45.00. This gave them the ninth and final qualifying time into Saturday's final.
McCarty's All-American Finish Highlights Day One of NCAA Nationals
PUEBLO, Colo. – Carson-Newman collected its first All-American of the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and qualified its relay team to the event final.
Sydney McCarty (Sevierville, Tenn.) was named a First Team All-American for her seventh-place finish in the women's long jump on day one of competition at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl on Thursday afternoon.
McCarty hit her top mark of 6.05m on her first jump, which was the second-best attempt of her flight, putting her in sixth place through the preliminary round. Only one athlete surpassed the high-flying Eagle in the championship flight as McCarty finished as the only All-American in the event from a school on the East Coast.
Porter punches ticket to 100m final to highlight Track and Field's opening day at Outdoor National Championships
Pueblo, Colo. —- Catawba College senior sprinter Winfred Porter earned a spot in Saturday's championship final in the men's 100-meter dash to highlight Catawba Track and Field's opening day at the Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado on Thursday.
Pioneers 4x100 relay and Hart advance to finals at NCAA Championship
PUEBLO, Colo. --- Tusculum University advanced to finals in two events on the opening day of the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship, being held at the Thunderbowl on the campus of Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Junior Jahzara Hart qualified for Saturday's final in the women's 100-meter dash, while the women's 4x100 relay of juniors Kiera Taylor, Shanice Cox, Theresa Green-White and Hart also moved on to the final on Saturday night.
