Queens Claims 2018 SAC Men’s Cross Country Championship
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – With six runners finishing in the top seven spots, the Queens University of Charlotte men's cross country team won its second straight and third overall South Atlantic Conference Championship, Saturday morning at the Milliken Research Center.
Queens, ranked seventh nationally and at the top of the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Poll, outdistanced Anderson and Wingate for the title.
The Trojans were tabbed fifth in the latest USTFCCCA regional poll, while Wingate was ranked ninth.
The Royals' Daniel Wallis covered the 8K course in a time of 24:34.0 to claim individual honors, while Anderson's Logan Horning captured Freshman of the Year honors with a ninth-place finish in a time of 25:33.89.
The NCAA Southeast Region Championships, which will be hosted by North Georgia on the Nighthawk's Oakwood campus, are slated for Saturday, Nov. 17.
