Lenoir-Rhyne’s Belk, Mars Hill’s Haithcox Named Softball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Lenoir-Rhyne College's Noel Belk and Mars Hill College's Natalie Haithcox have been named South Atlantic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, league officials announced today.
Lenoir-Rhyne pitcher Noel Belk, a junior, went 3-0 on the week, finishing with a 0.74 ERA and nine strikeouts in 19 innings of work. The Charlotte native won all three of her starts, including a four-hit shutout of No. 3 Columbus State in a 2-0 win Saturday afternoon at the West Georgia Invitational in Carrollton, Ga.

Mars Hill catcher/outfielder Natalie Haithcox, a freshman, led Mars Hill to a perfect 6-0 week, batting .476 with eight RBIs, two doubles, a triple, and a home run. She also scored 12 runs and stole three bases for the Lions. The Asheboro, North Carolina native also played well in the field, committing only one error in 25 chances.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors in the league.
