Anderson, Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne Receive NCAA Softball Championship Selections
The 2014 NCAA Division II Softball Championship bracket was unveiled on Monday morning, with Anderson, Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne earning selections into the southeast region field.
INDIANAPOLIS – The 2014 NCAA Division II Softball Championship bracket was unveiled on Monday morning, with Anderson, Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne earning selections into the southeast region field.
Anderson is seeded second in the southeast region and will host its side of the bracket, starting Friday against Georgia College. Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne, meanwhile, are seeded fourth and fifth, respectively, and will face off Friday in the opening round at North Georgia.
Anderson earned the SAC's automatic bid after capturing the Food Lion SAC Softball Championship. The Trojans also split the regular-season conference title with Lenoir-Rhyne, and are 42-10 overall.
Lenoir-Rhyne finished the regular season 39-13 overall, and Wingate is 36-18 overall after a runner-up finish in the SAC Championship. L-R and WU each earned at-large selections into the NCAA field.
