The South Atlantic Conference Announces Final Astroturf Softball Players of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the seventh weekend of the 2020 season. Wingate's Sam Hogan collected the player honor while Wingate's Aubrey Reep and Lenoir-Rhyne's Morgan Beeler earned Co-Pitchers of the Week accolades.
A junior infielder, Hogan helped lead the Bulldogs to a sweep over non-conference opponent Mount Olive this past weekend. Overall, the Albemarle, N.C. native, hit a .833 batting average, going 5-for-6 at the plate while hitting two homers and scoring two runs. This is Hogan's first Player of the Week honor of the season.
Reep, a senior pitcher helped lead the Bulldogs to a Sweep over non-conference opponent Mount Olive this past week. Overall Reep went five innings pitching a one-hitter while striking out 10 in their 9-0 win over Mount Olive. This is Reep's first Pitcher of the Week honor shared with Lenoir-Rhyne's Pitcher Morgan Beeler.
Freshman pitcher Beeler, helped the Bears to a conference win over Queens going a total of five innings while pitching a no-hitter and striking out eight in their 9-0 victory in game two. This Beeler's first Pitcher of the Week honor shared with Wingate's Pitcher Aubrey Reep.
