The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the ninth weekend of the 2021 season. Catawba's Jordan Dean earns the Player honor while Wingate's Aubrey Reep earns the Pitcher honor.

A senior shortstop Dean, helped lead the Catawba Indians to a sweep over Barton and a 1-1 record over Lenoir-Rhyne this past weekend. Overall, the Hope Mills, N.C., native averaged a .563 batting average, going 9-for-16 from the plate with a 1.063 slugging percentage, 12 RBI's, eight runs scored and two homeruns. This is Dean's first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Reep, a senior pitcher and 2019 SAC player of the year, went 3-0 for the Bulldogs last week pitching near perfect games against Queens. Overall, the Eastover, N.C., native went 19 innings with 10 hits and only three walks, while striking out 21. This is Reep's first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
