The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the twelfth weekend of the 2021 season. UVA Wise's Alexis Miles earns the Player honor while Catawba's Brooke Walser earns the Pitcher of the Week honors.

A senior outfielder Miles, was an instrumental part in helping the Cavaliers to a 4-6 record this past week. Overall, the Hudgins, Va., native averaged a .500 batting average, going 11-for-22 from the plate with a 1.273 slugging percentage, 14 RBI's, seven runs scored and five homeruns. This is Miles' first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Walser, a senior pitcher helped the Catawba Indians to a 4-0 record this past weekend after playing 20 total innings. Overall, the Thomasville., native walked away with only 12 hits and seven walks, while striking out 19. This is Walser's first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
