Five SAC Softball Teams Under Consideration in NCAA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had five schools ranked in the NCAA Southeast Region Softball poll released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Apr. 28). Anderson, Carson-Newman, Catawba, Lincoln Memorial andTusculum are all under consideration for this year's NCAA Southeast Region Championship.
In addition to the five SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there were three other schools under consideration: UNC Pembroke, North Georgia, UNC Pembroke and Young Harris.
For this week's rankings and next week's rankings, teams will be listed as under consideration in alphabetical order. Teams will be listed in rank order for the final regional rankings.
Anderson has a 29-11 record, Carson-Newman is 22-12, Catawba is 28-11, Lincoln Memorial is 36-6 and Tusculum is 22-17.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
