Tusculum’s Jasmine Gunn Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Jasmine Gunn has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by league officials today.
Gunn, a sophomore guard from Nashville, Tenn., averaged 24 points, 7.5 rebounds and six assists per game as Tusculum defeated Lincoln Memorial and Catawba.
She poured in 28 points on 9-of-19 shooting in Wednesday's 79-58
win over Lincoln Memorial. Gunn also dished out a game high six
assists and brought down eight rebounds.
In Saturday's 97-49 win over Catawba, Gunn led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting and brought down seven boards and dished out six assists.
Tusculum now stands at 19-3 overall and 8-2 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Pioneers are ranked 15th nationally in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Coaches' Poll and fifth in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region. The Pioneers will play at Wingate this Wednesday before hosting local rival Carson-Newman on Saturday.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
