Catawba’s Dana Hicks Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Catawba College's Dana Hicks has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending January 17, 2010.
Hicks, a sophomore center from York, S.C. (Gaston Day), posted two double-doubles on the week as Catawba picked up wins in both its games. Hicks scored 13 points with 14 rebounds in the win over Brevard and added a season-high 27 points and career-high equaling 16 rebounds in the victory at Mars Hill. The sophomore provided the final points in the Mars Hill win on a stick-back with 1:06 remaining.
Hicks averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds over the two games while shooting 50 percent from the field and 75.7 percent at the line. Of the 30 rebounds she pulled down in the two games, 17 were on the offensive end.
