Four Women’s Basketball Teams Stay In Region Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS -- Four South Atlantic Conference women's basketball teams remain ranked in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll, released Wednesday.
Carson-Newman College is second in the region, behind No. 1 Lander. Lenoir-Rhyne University dropped one spot to fifth, while Catawba College moved up one spot to seventh and Newberry College dropped one spot to eighth.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 3, 2010.
Records are through Sunday, January 31.
Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid.
