Lenoir-Rhyne’s Amber Holt Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Amber Holt has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending February 7, 2010.
Holt, a senior guard from Charlotte, N.C. (Hopewell HS), averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-0 week with a pair of victories over Brevard (74-49) and Newberry (69-57) last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Against the Tornados, Holt was the lone player to score in
double figures as she tallied 14 points. She followed that
performance with a game-high 21 points and five assists in L-R's
win over first-place Newberry.
Holt, a three-time, First-Team All-SAC pick, averages 11.1 points and a team-leading 3.2 assists per game this year for L-R (15-6, 8-3), who is currently tied for first place in the league standings.
