The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 20
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson guard Heather Jankowy has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 13-19, the League announced today.
Jankowy, a senior from Walhalla, S.C., recorded 21.5 points per game and shot 66.7 percent from the floor in a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week. She became just the 12th Trojan to score 1,000 career points as she poured in 21 points in a 90-58 win over Brevard on Feb. 15. Jankowy connected on 7-of-11 field goals, including 5-of-9 from long range to go along with four assists, a steal and three rebounds against the Tornados. Three days later at Lenoir-Rhyne, Jankowy got hot from deep as she nailed 6-of-8 triples to finish with 22 points in a 77-76 win over the Bears. Her three-pointer with one minute remaining erased the two-point deficit to help the Trojans to the win. Jankowy finished the week with four rebounds and six helpers as she picks up her second Player of the Week plaudit this season.
