The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 27

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson guard Alexy Mollenhaur has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 20-26, the League announced today.

Mollenhauer, a freshman from Lindale, Texas, fueled the Trojan offense with 25 points per game as Anderson picked up a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week to earn the No. 2 in seed in this week's SAC Women's Basketball Championship.  She got her week going with 28 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and four assists in Anderson's 76-73 win at No. 9 Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 22.  In the last 1:20 of play vs. the Railsplitters, she nailed a triple to break a 69-69 tie and converted a jumper with 40 seconds left to push the Trojan advantage to 74-70.  Three days later against Wingate, Mollenhauer stayed hot with 22 points to go along with nine rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.  The honor marks her first Player of the Week selection this season.
