Seven South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Teams Present in D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted seven teams throughout the fifth week of the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) southeast regional rankings. Anderson rose once again, taking over the No. 2 spot. Newberry and Wingate are in a tie for third. Carson-Newman and Tusculum are at No. 5 and No. 9 respectively. Lenoir-Rhyne and Lincoln Memorial are in a three-way tie for No. 10 with Lander.
The Trojans are continuing to climb the charts after wins over Alabama-Huntsville and regionally-ranked conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne.
The Wolves are unbeaten no more after a loss to King, but garnered a win over Benedict on a buzzer-beater.
In the Bulldogs' lone contest, the team fell to regionally-ranked SAC opponent Lincoln Memorial. Wingate was the only SAC women's basketball team to be nationally ranked last week.
The Eagles hold steady at No. 5 with wins over King and SAC member Coker.
The Pioneers rose to No. 9 after routing conference foe Queens.
The Bears fell into a tie for 10th after a loss to regionally-ranked SAC opponent Anderson in their only game of the week.
The Railsplitters make an appearance in the tie at No. 10 via wins over Tennessee Wesleyan and nationally-ranked conference opposition in Wingate.
