Anderson's Mollenhauer Named AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Jan. 7 through Jan. 13. Anderson's Alexy Mollenhauer garnered the Player of the Week honor.
A junior guard, Mollenhauer recorded her ninth and 10th double-doubles of the season in road wins over regionally-ranked Carson-Newman and nationally-ranked Newberry, extending the Trojans' win streak to 12 games. The Lindale, Texas native was just three assists shy of a triple-double in her performance against the Eagles, collecting 15 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and one steal. On the week, Mollenhauer averaged 18.5 points, 15 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and two steals. She shot 60 percent from the field, 55.6 percent from three-point range, and 88.9 percent from the free throw line. This is Mollenhauer's third Player of the Week honor of the season.
