NCAA Releases Division II Women's Basketball Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Four South Atlantic Conference women's basketball teams were named in the second week of the NCAA Division II southeast rankings. Anderson, Carson-Newman, and Wingate earned three of the top-4 spots, while Tusculum was placed in seventh.
The Trojans (24-2, 18-0 SAC) earned a SAC victory during the week and are sitting at No. 7/16 in the nation. On the week, Anderson earned wins versus regionally-ranked Carson-Newman and Coker. The Trojans defeated Newberry 82-76 to extend their winning streak to 22 games.
The Eagles (21-6, 14-5 SAC) are second in the region after downing regionally-ranked Tusculum (73-71) and dominated Queens (81-57).
The Bulldogs (18-7, 13-5 SAC) dropped to No. 4 in the southeast after being upset by Newberry 64-51.
The Pioneers (15-7, 7-7 SAC) hold the No. 7 spot in the southeast, splitting the week's contests with a loss to regionally-ranked Carson-Newman (73-71) and defeating Coker (59-35).
