The South Atlantic Conference Announces Women's Golf Elite 18 Honoree
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Mikaela Hadaway from Wingate University was named the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Elite 18 honoree, the League announced today. This is a new award for the SAC and honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average based on a minimum of 48 credit hours who is competing at the final site of each of the Conference's 18 team championship sports
Hadaway, a senior from Kettering, Ohio., carries a 4.0 GPA as a psychology major with a minor in biology. Hadaway earned Academic All-America a season ago and was named the 2016 SAC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the year.
On the course, Hadaway earned honorable mention All-South Atlantic Conference this past season as she played in every event for the Bulldogs. In her final regular season home appearance, Hadaway made the all-tournament team for the second consecutive year in the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge. The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® shot 79-77 for a 156 at the Rolling Hills Country Club lay-out. Her best round of the season (74) was achieved in the first round of Pfeiffer's event. She averaged 78.8 strokes per round as a senior.
