Wingate's Brown Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Golfer of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Jess Brown was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Golfer of the Week for events played during the fifth and sixth weeks of the 2023 spring season, the Conference office announced today.
Brown, a junior from Gloucestershire, England, led the Bulldogs to a pair of top-10 finishes, including winning the Surratt Memorial. Individually, Brown placed 16th at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invite and took home medalist honors at the Surratt Memorial. She carded rounds of 73, 75, and 69 at the Surratt and finished the two week period with a scoring average of 74.4.
The bi-monthly award is awarded to the top golfer in the SAC based on their results from the previous two weeks of play.
