The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the first weekend of the 2021 season. Limestone's Rachel Denney took the offensive honor while Wingate's Megan Biase took the defensive honor.

A graduate attacker Fort Mill, S.C. native, Denney, helped the Saints to a huge 15-5 win over non-conference opponent North Greenville. Overall, she pulled together 7 points with six goals and one assist, doubling her previous career-high of three goals. This is Denney's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Biase, a sophomore goalie, helped the Bulldogs to a large margin win over non-conference opponent Lee this past weekend. Picking up right where she left off last season, Biase saved nine goals while only allowing six goals and adding six ground balls and one caused turnover. The Nesconset, N.Y., native went all 60 minutes between the posts with a 60.0 save percentage. This is Biase's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
