The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the third weekend of the 2021 season. Tusculum's Juliette Cusano took the offensive honor, while Queens' Sara Mitrecic took the defensive honor.
Cusano, a graduate student midfielder, helped the Pioneers to a big 17-7 win over non-conference opponent Southern Wesleyan this past weekend. Overall, the Davie, Fla., native pulled together seven points with seven goals breaking a school record, while also adding 10 draw controls, two caused turnovers and three groundballs. This is Cusano's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
A senior goalie Mitrecic, helped the Royals to a 12-9 win over non-conference opponent Mount Olive this past weekend. The Ocean City, Md., native spent all 60 minutes between the goal posts where she totaled eight saves and allowed only nine goals. This is Mitrecic's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
