Queens Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the sixth weekend of the 2021 season. Queens swept both awards with Ally Blood taking the offensive honor and teammate Madi Bednarik taking the defensive honor.

Blood, a senior attacker, helped the Royals to a 2-0 record this past weekend. She totaled three points on one goal, while adding two assists and two ground balls in their 17-10 win over Wingate. Blood went on to garner eight points on three goals, one caused turnover, four ground balls and five assists in a 20-4 win over Mars Hill. Overall, the Jarrettsville, Md., native pulled together 11 points with four goals while also compiling six ground balls and seven assists. This is Blood's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

A Sophomore goalie Bednarik, helped secure a pair of wins for the Royals this past weekend over conference opponent Wingate and Mars Hill. The Flanders, N.J., native spent 60 minutes between the goal posts where she totaled seven saves for a 50.0 save percentage and allowed only seven goals. This is Bednarik's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
