The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the ninth weekend of the 2021 season. UVA Wise's Jesse French took the offensive honor and Coker's Abby Kellner took the defensive honor.

French, a senior attacker, from Dumfries, Va., helped the Cavaliers to a 21-11 win over conference opponent Mars Hill this past weekend. She totaled 10 points on two goals, while adding eight assists and one ground ball, setting a new single-game school record for assists. French went on to dish out five assists and tally six points on one goal in their game versus nationally ranked Limestone. This is French's second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

A senior goalie Kellner, helped the Cobras secure a 16-14 win over Tusculum this past weekend. The Marietta, Ga., native spent all 60 minutes between the posts totaling 15 saves for a 51.7 save percentage. This is Kellner's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
