The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the tenth weekend of the 2021 season. Wingate's Kendall Wells took the offensive honor and Queens' Sara Mitrecic took the defensive honor.
Wells, a senior attacker, from Elkridge, Md., helped the Bulldogs to a 3-0 record on the week, totaling five points on five goals, while adding one ground ball in their 22-10 win over Newberry. She went on to dish out six goals for eight points, two assists and one ground ball in a 20-8 win against Lenoir-Rhyne. Wells ended the week scoring three goals for four points, one assist and one ground ball in a 17-5 win over non-conference opponent North Greenville. This is Wells' second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
A senior goalie Mitrecic, helped the Royals secure two wins over Limestone and UVA Wise this past week. The Ocean City, Md., native spent all 120 minutes between the posts totaling 13 saves for a 50.0 save percentage. This is Mitrecic's second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
