The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2021 Women's Lacrosse Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens won the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship title as they closed out the season with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play. With the title, the Royals have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Limestone earned the No. 2 seed with a near perfect record of 8-1 in SAC action, while Wingate took home the No. 3 seed with a 7-2 conference record. UVA Wise earned the No. 4 seed after closing out the season at 7-3 in conference play. With a 4-4 record and sitting at the No. 5 seed was Lenoir-Rhyne and rounding out the field of six will be Newberry with the No. 6 seed. The Wolves finished the season with a record of 4-5 in conference. 

Queens and Limestone each earned a bye to the semifinals.  The quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, April 20 at campus sites with the semifinals and finals taking place at Moretz Stadium in Hickory, N.C. on April 23 and 25.  The tournament schedule is listed below:

Tuesday, April 20 (at Highest Seeds)

Game 1: #4 UVA Wise vs. #5 Lenoir-Rhyne, 4:00 p.m.

Game 2: #3 Wingate vs. #6 Newberry, 4:00 p.m.

Friday, April 23 (Hickory, N.C.)

Game 3: winner game 1 vs. #1 Queens, 4:30 p.m.

Game 4: winner game 2 vs. #2 Limestone, 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 23 (Hickory, N.C.)

Game 5: winner game 5 vs. winner game 6, 4:00 p.m.
