Anderson's Cannon and Tusculum's White Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Varsity Gems Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the eleventh week of the 2023 season. Anderson's Alicia Cannon was named the offensive player of the week and Tusculum's Emily White was named the defensive player of the week.  

Cannon, a freshman from Tarzana, Calif., tied her career-high eight goals against Mars Hill for the third time this season. She recorded 10 goals, five assists, two ground balls, 19 draw controls, and six turnovers on the week. Cannon is currently ranked third in Division II for draw controls per game with 8.75. 

White, a freshman from Roswell, Ga., had a total of 30 saves in her first two career starts with a .600 save percentage against UVA Wise and Newberry. White had 16 saves in the Pioneers' 14-9 win over UVA Wise on Wednesday and followed up with 14 saves on 25 shots on goal in an 11-6 loss to Newberry on Saturday.
