The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during the fourth week of the 2024 season. Wingate's Leah Knowles was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Limestone's Bailey Stumpf was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Knowles, a senior from Hickory, N.C., had a pair of big games to lead No. 15 Wingate to two victories last week, as she registered eight goals, four assists, seven draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Knowles had three goals, three assists, four draw controls and two caused turnovers in the win over Florida Tech and followed by pouring in five goals and an assist to go along with three more draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover as the 'Dogs defeated Lenoir-Rhyne.

Stumpf, a senior from Fisherville, Ky., earned her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honors as she anchored the Saints in defense in the decisive 18-5 win over Tusculum. Stumpf picked up three ground balls, forced five turnovers and won 10 draw controls in the victory, helping Limestone to move to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in SAC play.
