Carson-Newman’s Rebecca Angus named Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman senior forward Rebecca Angus has been named the South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Week in guiding the No. 3 ranked Eagles to two wins this past week.
The Eagles, ranked No. 1 in the Southeast region by the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America, defeated conference foe and
No. 6 regionally ranked Lincoln Memorial 5-2 on Wednesday,
September 6 and blanked USC Upstate, 2-0 on Saturday, September 9.
Angus scored three goals against LMU, her second straight hat
trick, and assisted on the game-winning goal in the shutout of USC
Upstate. Angus leads the Lady Eagles in goals scored with eight and
17 points in the 2006 season.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the eight sports information directors of the league.
