Wingate’s Miriam Boucher Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate University goalkeeper Miriam Boucher is this week's Women's Soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Boucher, a sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Central Memorial) piled up 20 saves in Wingate's two matches on the week, leading the Bulldogs to a 1-0-1 record. Boucher had 14 saves as Wingate earned a hard fought 0-0 tie at No. 10 Armstrong Atlantic State Wednesday. She had six saves as Wingate won a 2-1 double-overtime thriller Saturday at Tusculum.
This year, Boucher has allowed one goal in 264-plus minutes for
a 0.34 GAA. As a true freshman, Boucher started 13 matches in 2009.
She allowed 10 goals and made 26 saves for a 0.85 GAA. Boucher
finished 4-2-3 and registered four shutouts. Boucher twice went the
distance in double overtime matches, preserving shutouts in each of
them.
