Three Women’s Soccer Teams In NCAA Region Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee has released the NCAA Division II women's soccer poll, and three South Atlantic Conference teams are ranked in the top 10 of the Southeast Region.
Lenoir-Rhyne University, with an 11-1-1 overall record against Division II competition and a 10-1-1 record against in-region opponents, is ranked fifth. Wingate University is in seventh with a 7-2-3 record against DII and in-region opponents. Carson-Newman breaks into the poll at ninth with a 7-5 record against DII and in-region opponents. Records are through October 18.
Six teams from each of the eight regions will make up the 48-team NCAA Championship field. In the Southeast Region, the conference tournament champion from the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference, and Conference Carolinas will earn an automatic bid into the national tournament. There will be three at-large selections.
The final regular-season poll will be published November 3 and championship selections will take place November 8. Selections will be announced at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, November 8 via a webcast selection show on NCAA.com.
